Yeah I also had that problem with my Rubik's Cube scene. Managed to fix it, but don't ask me how. I'm not sure anymore, but I did a lot of things including, but not limited to: freeze transformation, ungroup, regroup... But also try to export the models yourself as .obj and then re-import those obj-...

Have a look at the command: composite I guess its even more suitable. I did not find it in the Maya Documentation, but its pretty simple: composite [int width] [int height] [string "filename"] [string format] [string directory] [float startframe] [float endframe] [float byframe] [int padding] [int a...

Door woods are pretty easy. Just download a suitable image set from cgtextures.com or such and even with only one phong layer you get very nice results. Blend in a second (either diffuse or very rough phong) and you get some extra detail. Anyways... why do you think that especially those 9 materials...

Yeah. Think about the following: Maya units is centimeter, focal length is (always) millimeter. So you will multiply all units by 0.01 to get indigo meters. So 100 maya cm will be 1 indigo m. However: We have a camera, focal length of typical 35mm and a "sunny-day-fstop" of f/16. Focal Length is wit...

Heyas. Maya is doing some batch rendering and I have thought about the FStop Thing. Apperently you shouldn't use the Global Scale Factor there. Maya Units for Focal Length are always millimeters, film aperture is always inches. Because those units don't change I think it's wrong to use the $mtiGSF_C...

Yah. It's located in the Extra Attributes tab. I didn't edit the template MEL yet. I'm not sure wether I should put it directly into the Medium Tab or create a new MtI-specific tab. Cuz I was away longer than planned I hadn't enough time to get everything managed to work as expected. One of my custo...

Yeah. As far as they have not changed essential stuff to MEL, there's a good chance that at least the exporter will work. Just install MtI without the plugin and use the maya blinn, lambert and phong nodes. I'm sure I'll find my Maya 5 somewhere on the attic or cellar, but I don't have time to test ...

I don't like a focal length of 35mm. I rather use 20-25 mm for most purposes :D However, I'll also have a closer look on the formula. I'll have some ideas, but I have to check the maya/mel reference manual. So far I'll stick with the changed line for my personal sake as far as I find a good solution.

Heya. Found something interesting: When I use the default Global Scale Factor of 0.01 (100 Maya centimeter = 1 Indigo Meter) I noted the following: The Depth Of Field was ways too strong. Even with an F-Stop of 250 which should remove almost any DoF. I had a look into the mti_ExportModuleCamera.mel ...

As switch would be nice. As an artist I dont want to mess around with scientifiy values. My mind is full of values regarding lighting, texturing. Ideas of how I model things. and also: common values are comparable by just looking less than a second onto them. Edit: merging my changes isn't a problem...

well... since everything fades somewhere to black when I use values greater than zero, I need a maximum multiplier. I hadn't time by now, but I'll search for that multiplier with a medium color of <0.999 0.999 0.999> (near perfect transparent). I'll get something like a multiplier of 100000 I guess....
