Re: AMD 6 core

Currently, Both ATI and NVIDI perform about equaly on the GPU computing game, the exception being the new Fermi Cards from Nvidia. They are several times faster, they went all out for it on those. Some numbers from my favorite site :) http://www.anandtech.com/show/2977/nvidia-s-geforce-gtx-480-and-g...

Here's the error message:

Code: Select all

indigo_console.exe has failed to start because nvcuda.dll was not found.
Because of this material previews are not working inside Maxigo.
Does that dll mean no OpenCL implementation :( ?

Re: Indigo 2.4/2.6 roadmap

Thats sounds like you didn't understand ANYTHING lyc posted... Octane does 8 bounces of the rays (max setting is 64 iirc), Indigo does 10k (or 100k?) bounces by default... So if you put a mirror opposite to another one and look "inside" it Octane will show 8 pictures of the mirror, Indigo will show...

To be fair, this and 2.2.10 are trying to fix a bug in linux, not in M$ or OSX

Re: First OpenCL benchmarks test on Mac

'Cuz the HD5970 has like 2Gb :? Kinda sorda, its misleading. There is 2Gb of memory, 1 Gb for each graphics core. So really its still 1Gb of practical usable memory. I'm wondering about how SLi will work. If I use two cards with 2 GB each will OpenCL use 4GB as a whole or will it work as separate u...

Re: Linux vs Windows which is faster

I tested it a little while ago. single threaded (around2.2.1) they were about equal, and multithreading linux was regressed for some reason and not scaling well. When run through wine (when indigo did worked under wine, haven't tested it recently) linux was faster with out fail (but that was 32bit o...
