is the next random number calculated purely based on the previous random number, or by also using the timer? If it's using the timer then we can presume the numbers are pretty random otherwise, if we're not, then maybe there's some clever ways of making sure that the same calculation is never perfor...

Networked rendering on 1.1.6 and 1.1.7

I've found that both 1.1.6 and 1.1.7 cant act as network masters. Regardless of the scene they complain that no emitters can be found. I presume this is because for some reason either 1) indigo.exe is failing to load the scene xml, and the first error that it throws is lack of lights 2) the error ch...

Here's my example for blending an emitting material with null. The emission pattern is modulated by layerimg.jpg and there is a mask called layermask.jpg which defines where the emitter exists. If this doesn't make sense then someone say so and i'll edit it after i've eaten some breakfast. <material...

Perhaps i'm missing something? i've tried this with the following testscenes and get the same error: box_emitter_test.igs airy_disk_test.igs blend_material_test.igs Is there a way to 'i...

so how do I go about setting a material to emit light?
i'd like to blend a light emitting material with a null material using an imagemask.

Is it possible to blend an RGB light with another material using this method?
So you could "etch" a light emitting material onto glass?

Sorry if this is a n00b question. i'm a skindigo person so i like my bread buttered for me!

i presume that vpn is only necessary for the windows file share element of how people generally intiate the rendering process. if we can find another way of syncing the file system to a central source then vpn would be out of the equation. We'd need something like syncback or synctoy to get the file...

i had a look at the GPU project (confusing name. here they're referring to a "global" processing unit, i.e. a grid) they support the use of batch files as projects, which means that writing a dll isn't necessary. What would people want to see in grid rendering? If enough people are interested in thi...
