Re: Indigo on AWS

As you can see, this topic never got attention. I used it back when indigo was in beta. You are probably right to use network licenses to jump back and forth between local and AWS EC2 nodes. M4 instances are just pretty nice... Octane does offer licenced and setup machines on ec2, so you pay per use...

Re: RhIndigo - Indigo for Rhinoceros 5.0 thread

First of all, thanks for writing an exporter. Really appreciated. I downloaded and installed the plugin. It just starts out fine, but indigo throws the following error: Scene parsing error: Failed to parse Vec3 from '19,5111 -29,1895 19,4016'. (In element 'scene / camera'): <camera> <pos>19,5111 -29...

Indigo on AWS

In the good old license free times I used to beef up my renderpower by using linux nodes on Amazon AWS to get my jobs done in time. A small network of nodes was running while I was using my workstation as normal. Especially the new nodes including tesla cards could be a nice temporal feature. Only t...

Re: it's the mac address wheel of fortune

I have to agree. One moment not really concentrated and I had the wrong MAC licensed, which is an dead end. It is especially dangerous in the times of vmware and virtual box, where virtual network-cards are around. I can imagine, it is annoying to receive those mails on wrong MAC adresses, but I tri...

Re: SkIndigo 2.0.12

"Error Loading File skindigo.rb The system can not find the specified file." So no console output, as this comes up before any console can be reached. Second part is translated from german, so it is probably different as an english error message. When I start Sketchup as an admin it works. For me, i...

Re: SkIndigo 2.0.12

PC, vista 64...I have to run sketchup as admin to make it work. So, I went back to 2.0.10 and it works flawlessly.

Re: SkIndigo 2.0.12

Hi Whaat,
my sketchup only accepts the plugin, when I run as admin. Is this intended, or just my installation?
Thanks for your great work on the plugin, by the way.

Re: render speed of slave

Dear Ono,
thanks for the reply. I set the slave to 600sec. Speed of slave (123k) is still allmost the same as the master (121k).
Mh. I will check back what happens, when the quad is the master....

Re: render speed of slave

I just use the normal process: Start up the render master, turn on network render, start the render, while having the slave running. The render slave connects and picks up the data and starts rendering, using all 4 cores, but not being faster than its master.

render speed of slave

Dear Ono and anyone else! I could not find any information on that issue, but it seems to me, that my slave (quad 2.4) has the same speed as my master (duo 3.0). When rendering directly from indigo not as a slave on the quad, it runs at double the speed. Anyone else made the same notice of the pheno...

Re: SkIndigo 2.0.8

Hi Whaat, I switched to your latest exporter, now being unable to export my scene. ruby console gives this output: "------SkIndigo Export Run------" "Faces 99916" "Instances 103" "Material Meshes 35" "Component Meshes 4" "Spheres 0" Error: #<NoMethodError: undefined method `get_materials' for #<Skin...

For this major step I want to say thanks for the great work, I really appreciate. Layering is an absolutly perfect new feature.

But I found, that exit portal no longer works for me. It just makes indigo crash. Same scene without it works nice. Anyway, still great new version.
