Re: Who else here is excited for Blender 2.5?
First official beta is due next month. Performance in the 200-300,000 poly range is largely dependent on the hardware you're using, regardless of 3d software used. In general faster bus/RAM speeds and decent video card are the most important.

Re: Who else here is excited for Blender 2.5?
Thanks Borgleader I was enjoying myself right up to the lame ps3/toaster thing.

Re: Who else here is excited for Blender 2.5?
I would think that it's the other way around. Many, many people who tried to learn blender gave up just because of the UI. Watch this http://vimeo.com/5225291 Someone who seems like a long time blender user seems to admit that it's UI has problems... Drop it...seriously we've beenover the question ...

Why not pull out two more dimms? That would get triple channel going again and I would think 6GB should be enough to "get by on".

Re: Indigo Co-op
I think it's going to be simpler if when the complete scene is being laid out its created and save in a particular program. Constantly export to .obj and trying to keep materials and mapping in place could prove to be a problem. I nominate blender for the final scene because it's free "as in beer" a...
