Re: Indigo Renderer GPU acceleration

Any idea about balance of CPU GPU? I've a lowly Intel 2ghz dual core on my main machine. I'm slowly upgrading. Its now maxed out at 8GB of ram. My next upgrade will be either a CPU or GPU (not both at the moment) £160 on a Quad core upgrade or £160 on a new Graphics card? What would be best for the ...

Re: Indigo Renderer GPU acceleration

Russdigo: the other part of that performance picture is how long it takes to get a clean image :) Sure. I would like to weigh up how long its takes to get to a clean image against the cost you pay for the tech which will now include the graphics card. Personally I do many jobs that don't allow me t...

Re: Indigo Renderer GPU acceleration

In a years time we will see how the market has sorted itself out. The math and feature sets balance will get interesting. Buyers will start to sum up the whole package. For example its the price of the software plus the cost of the card to make the whole rendering package balanced against performanc...

Re: Indigo Renderer GPU acceleration

The top priority for now is to improve OpenCL performance in general to the level we're seeing with CUDA. Even on NVIDIA cards we're not getting the same performance using OpenCL as with CUDA, and with ATI we have architectural differences to contend with too. How do the ATI cards compare to Nvidia...

Re: Indigo for Revit

I had to look Revit up to see what it was... which is embarrassing as I do architectural illustration. Indigo for Arkey anyone? More happy if you made Indigo for Carrara or Hexagon though!

Re: Unlimited rendering detail technology

Whilst I can see its got some obvious flaws like animation I just like the fresh approach. Using a search engine method to make efficiency gains in what is displayed has a certain genius!

Bugs in it at the moment but very impressive. I'd say the next 5-10 years will perfect this for the home/business market.

Re: Indigo killer feature/must buy app

My possible USP that could be developed. (I wouldn't know if these are pie in the sky or not just putting them out there). 1. Indigo licences come with a free Overdrive-farm provided by Glare. This Overdrive-farm is maybe a handfull of multi core systems. A priority system would determine order of u...

Indigo killer feature/must buy app

As I've bought Indigo's lifetime licence I have a vested interest in seeing Indigo do well in the market. I'm putting this thread out to try and see how Indigo might distinguish itself from the competition and give it a unique selling point (USP). At the moment its USP is the lifetimes licence but t...

Re: About 10 Indigo lifetime licences left

Is it not possible to do what Zbrush does. I have a copy of Zbrush and I can move it where I want but only one will work at once as the software checks via the net. Then what happens if your computer is not connected to the internet? Then that computer is fixed with Zbrush. You can't move it till y...

This is great as I have 3 computers, to desktops and a laptop. Sometimes I would like my laptop or 2nd desktop to be the master so I ca...

Re: Teaching physics/science with Indigo

Hold your horses, interferometry (slim slits suff) is about quantum mechanics, Indigo is more about optics :) What matters is the science departements after Russdigo, generally speaking ? What do they study ? They are open to suggestion. It might be a case of something to look forward to at the end...

Borgleader wrote:iirc in the lightbox experiment you mentionned the slits are extremely small and i wonder how indigo works with those :?
I was also wondering if Indigo would produce diffraction patterns from twin slits etc.
