you have all the reason, but this little team is working very hard. i feel his power
I know, I have also felt their power for over 10 years now... they can even beat an rtx 4090...

Btw, "yo no soy nada", ¡arriba ese animo!, you are a great artist. Are you close to the Basque Country?

Bug when displaying icons in 4K UHD screens

Hi,

Tested Indigo Renderer, icons in toolbar are displayed as low DPI in UHD screen. I suggest you fix that.

Re: minimal recommended hardware - laptop

this app shows that a 10 year old computer with a modest geforce gt 420M can also render quite fast in real time: https://www.opencascade.com/products/cad-rays/
It would be nice if Indigo had such a feature for render preview.

Re: minimal recommended hardware - laptop

A very useful article, from a much more active forum, not related to rendering but to CFD: https://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/hardware/234076-general-recommendations-cfd-hardware-wip.html . Regarding CPU, Indigo and CFD apps computing requirements may be quite similar. Also talks about GPU performanc...

Re: minimal recommended hardware - laptop

Again, thank you for the info, very helpful. I did not know anything about AMD's 3D V-Cache Stack, might be promising, and I hope that Indigo will benefit from it. As I remarked, I do not know much about processors, but Xeon processors for servers and workstations usually have quite big caches, and ...

Re: minimal recommended hardware - laptop

I think I'm somewhat older than you, and although I'm not into building computers I could rebate some of your assertions: - quadro cards have been into market for more than 20 years, and they have been used by pros since then. Me myself, my second computer (Pentium III) had a quadro GeForce which by...

Re: minimal recommended hardware - laptop

Thank you Mr Black, you were really helpful. However, i find it difficult to believe online benchmarks when an old second hand DELL Precision M6800 is as expensive as a new Asus ROG Strix G15s: the M6800 MUST have some advantage over the ROG G15s. Not to say a beast like the HP Z640, with 14 cores i...

mistery in the lavatory

hi, i have an issue to render a toilet and a bathtub. It has to do either with the sketchup file, or with skindigo export. https://i.ibb.co/bvfvgF8/1.jpg When I render to Indigo through Skindigo the opengl preview looks like this, and so does the render: https://i.ibb.co/hMzRFQV/2.jpg If I create an...

minimal recommended hardware - laptop

Hi,

I'd like to know which minimal laptop (or GPU + CPU + chipset ) specs you'd recommend nowadays (11/2021), to get good rendering speeds. Would a modern 1200 € laptop offer better rendering results than a workstation from year 2015 (core i7 6820HQ, NVIDIA QUADRO M1000M 2GB)?
thanks.

new GUI in latest indigo versions

i'm using a low resolution screen to render with indigo (1024x768), and indigo log window messages can hardly be read with the new interface. My request: can you make the log window resizeable, or at least, can you make it appear at the left? (as latin users read from left to right, i prefer to have...

yep, i agree that "we're at a point now where re-writing even a single part of a single exporter is a major task". What i'm afraid of is that this could make some "exporters" die (not the developers, the apps ), and indigo could lose a nice chance of being "the most used renderer (and the best...

generic "exporter" (interface)?

hi, it seems funny to me ( :) ) that since Jul 2006 there's no continuation on the proposal of keeping a unified interface to export data from 3d modellers to indigo, & to make available to modellers the data of materials, cameras, textures, lights, etc. [EDIT: when v1.0.4 was released there was a s...

resizing posted renders, so...

i'd suggest to resize renders when uploaded, so they're not too big (creating a thumbnail, or sth, about 640x480 max). It's very unconfortable having to slide the displacement bars to read the topics in a monitor at a res of 1024x

@ kwistenbiebel Regarding my requests, indigo & skindigo are so great, why not ask for a bit more? When i asked "why do you save the file default-settings.igs in the indigo folder?" i meant "why do you by default ....". I think it's better to default it to skindigo folder. i might use indigo ...

working with updated versions of skindigo

@ Whaat: i'm trying to render a SU model where i had some lights & mats configured with v1.0.8 of skindigo & indigo. I have tried to do the same with v0.9 (just because i'm trying to learn how-to with the prog., & i miss the presets), but it keeps using v1.0.8. It seems the .skp file saves info abou...
