tools for network rendering?
hi!
about network rendering, is there a way to control several machines from only one. I would want to do everything from my computer(start and stop rendering, and start again another one etc...), without having to move from my room, other computers are on other rooms.
thx.

hi, i tried to use an emitting plane instead of a sun with physical sky that i used in first tests. ok that's not really realistic, too much clean, the head especially, and i think i need more reflection, but i like the SSS effect. Advices are welcome, thx :D http://img483.imageshack.us/img483/5435/...

here is a higher version, with more SSS, but i've added too much reflection, wings especially, i have to decrease exponent for glossy ref, About the model, i modelled it with blender quite long ago(3 years i think), it took some hours (i forgot how many) but never take time for texturing! i used pho...

mrCarnivore, yes i'll increase SSS a bit. i just hope too much SSS won't kill the effect. radiance, i did a small post pro too, colours and gamma. about the eyes, i forgot to say there's black spheres inside each eye, to help. and there's another object inside head, that gives darker colour on the h...

the only texture is the grass of course, mantis doesn't have any texture. i'd like your opinion on the material, i want the mantis to reflect more, i suppose i just have to increase exponent value? here is the head mat: http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/4879/myscreenyj2.jpg radiance, here is the ey...

xml file and parser
hi,
i wonder what does this line means on XML test files :
<?xml version="1.0" standalone=no>
i'm coding a java GUI, and the parser in use gives error, it prefers something like this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

yes,i've got a meshlight scene also very slow. other than that, it seems faster than test2 :o , not absolutly sure of that if you take in account that i have increased gamma on postpro to get the same ambiance on test3. both are 12 minutes on my P4 1,6GHz, test3 is on the left: http://img238.imagesh...
