Re: Cairo scorcher (animation)

Excellent animation SATtva_, very nice. I liked the audio, it added a lot of realism to the scene.

Re: How to start animation rendering in linux

Ok, here is the script. It's a quick and dirty one, but it works. It is written in Ruby so you will need it installed on your system. Dr. Queue only really understands frames, so not good at all for single images, but works ok for animations. Here is the script, you will need to change some of the p...

Re: How to start animation rendering in linux

Hi Jambert, I have done animations with Indigo on Linux, although Fedora 9 not Ubuntu. Shouldn't make much of a difference though. I used Dr. Queue to control my renders. Are you running a cluster or have a multi processor CPU? Dr. Queue does take some scripting to get the renders to work right. Let...

This looks like it's a problem with the new version of Indigo. At least for the first error, still not sure about the second error.

I can confirm SATtva's error, JPEG files that worked before no longer will load. I'm also on the 64-bit version of Linux. I did try and load and save the files with Gimp but it didn't help. My usual image viewers and Gimp will load the files just fine. This is running Indigo v1.1.16.

I tried the Sun Java, but it didn't work either. :( So I went looking for another option. It looks like Indigo has some kind of problem with the preview_squaretile.jpg file. When I tried to load the preview igs into Indigo I get the following error: Warning: failed to decode texture '/home/jason/Dow...

Sounds good, thanks. I will install Sun Java and see if it makes any difference.

Hey MSUdom5, I'm getting the same problem as OBI_Ron but I don't have any problems with my video card. I'm running a GeForce 8500 and I can change the texture and see the changes on Suzanne. I also set the Indigo path to the correct one and even tried to hand edit the config file. I'm running Fedora...

Thanks eman, I do have version 2.8, 2.8.9 to be exact. I did figure out one of my problems, getting the libwx_gtk2 libraries into /usr/lib64. I needed to add --libdir=/usr/lib64 to the configure command. The libraries are now built and in the right spot but now there is another problem. The l...

Thank you, thank you for the linux versions Ono. :) Now my problem (isn't there always one?). I installed the x64 version and promptly got the same old error that I was getting before: ./indigo Fatal Error: Mismatch between the program and library build versions detected. The library used 2.8 (no de...

We have a cell cluster (8 PS3's) here at the university where I work. But it doesn't get used very much, mostly because it is very hard to program for and the above mentioned memory issue. If you really wanted to port Indigo to the cell, you should use the cell blades. Unfortunately they are about $...
