i solved my problem by making the material unique, thus turning into a texture which SK assigned UVs to. :oops:

this is what happened when i applied an external .jpg to the displacement channel. SU uv set i think the problem may be that i only applied a color to the surface (skindigo UVmapping option not availiable in RC menu) then applied the displace to roughen it up? so it seems a UV set was not assigned t...

i assigned the mirror preset to chrome then it renders fine.

seems to be a problem with .nk somehow (for all i know) :oops:

To create an IES light:
1) Choose the 'Layer' that the material will emit.
2) Check the 'IES Path' box.
3) Browse for a valid IES file by clicking the '..' button.


explain step 1 please. 'Layer'?

i know what layers are just not in this context? i can't seem to get to step 2
