Re: Indigo Renderer 4.2.14 Beta Release

Is this possible- To store a scene's parameters in an indigo scene, such that it could then be used in another indigo standalone scene, like merging 2 standalone scenes, into the standalone, as 2 separate scene geometries. Or can you bring in an FBX camera, or FBX animation/mesh, and have it pan-thr...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.0.65

This is an idea for consideration: -Multiple camera/preview-pane angles- So, in Standalone we have one perspective to view a scene, but can navigate it around in the preview pane to get a different angle. But, once moved you can't undo and go back. A workaround is that if you want to keep the angle,...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.0.65

120 k triangles is nothing, you should comfortably be able to have 100x more. There's something else that's wrong, have you checked the render log? Ah! Oscar you saved the day! It was a material that was coming over strange, a 'glass'. It gave a warning and then it never cached into the GPU. Once I...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.0.65

Hello - Would a scene with this info be 'too big' for OpenCL/GPU? Layers: 1 Objects: 18 Dynamic Objects: 0 Triangles: 120543 Unique Triangles: 120188 When I render off any of the CPU modes it renders fine, but when using OpenCL/GPU, it builds everything, then says rendering, but never actual starts ...

Re: Interface issues

Indigo's render engine gives life to scenes in ways that Octane just hasn't been able to achieve, not sure the technical reason, but my eyes just see it overall. So I can't help but imagine that some added user interface tools would really be exciting to have in Indigo standalone! For me, I guess, n...

Re: Interface issues

^ Hmm, why would you not want to use your 3d app for these things though? You avoid needing to do the work again. So, less work + faster. That's what makes a node editor so powerful, you don't have to go back to the 3D app and do it all over again. Just upload the new mesh file into the node editor...

Re: Interface issues

+1 on a Node Editor. Octane's node editor is a feature that basically allows you to tweak elements of a scene in a visual format, like a top-down map of the pieces of the scene. But what it allows you to do, is to change the geometry of a scene in the standalone renderer itself, without needing to m...

Re: IndigoMax 0.6.8

Any chance we could get a Max to Indigo material converter? I'm thinking the code could be directly copied from the C4D plugin's converter?... But seriously, even if such conversion would only work on a 'best efforts basis', it would cut down on time needed to manually hit up each existing mat...

Yeah, let's get a nice added feature set for the 3DS Max plugin.
It's 3DS Max after all....
3DS MAX
MAX, as in MAXIMUM.

Christmas Wish:
3DS Max Material converter to Indigo Materials

(iClone, Sketchup, and C4D have conversion processes in their Indigo Renderer iterations, would be great to see 3DS Max get a nice big gift from Santa!!!)

Re: I'm Just Going to Ask....

Ah! You helped me here, indirectly! I will explain... I took your thought of a transparent image, thinking of how a PNG works, and just to try, I inverted the Opacity map in external editor (GIMP) (greyscale invert). And...This allowed the blend to take place, very strange! It's almost as if other s...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.0.60 Beta Release

Hello! Would you consider creating a direct Opacity channel in the Indigo Material itself, where as an option you could apply an Opacity map directly into an Opacity channel itself, in addition to having the current workflow with the Indigo Blend Material protocol, where you take the material, then ...

Re: I'm Just Going to Ask....

Okay... So... Indigo has a "Blend Material": 1) Plug in original 'Diffuse' map into an Albedo Channel of an Indigo Material, then 2) plug that into Material A or B of the Blend Material, leaving the other unused (A or B) as 'Null'. 3) Then take the Opacity map and plug that into the Blend texture ch...
