Re: Indigo Renderer 4.2.20 Beta Release
This version of Indigo crashed on me. I can share the scene if you like. An excerpt of the log files is copied below. This same scene did not cause errors on prior versions of Indigo, including 4.2.19. Thanks, Marc OS: Linux Ubuntu, 16.04.2 LTS (Xenial Xerus) Error Log: *** Error in `/home/mriedel/R...

Re: Wooded Landscape
Oscar, As always, thanks for taking the time to provide such detailed and helpful advice! People like you make posting and blogging online worthwhile. Yes, very good advice. Looking at the renderings before posting them, I too felt that they looked unrealistic, at least compared to interior renders ...

Wooded Landscape
Comments and criticisms would be appreciated! I'm constrained in the composition of the scenes, since this is an actual property. (I'll attach some aerial shots of it.)

Re: Lotus Elise
Galinette, Oscar, Really appreciate your feedback! New versions posted below. I modeled the car in Sketchup. Yes, the IOR on the car paint was way too high, at 1.6. In the new posts, I've bumped it down to 1.3. (What value would you suggest? I think that 1.6 was the default for this material, the "C...

Re: Ruby code for Setting Active Section Planes
Yes, the Indigo settings for active/inactive for section planes are independent of the Sketchup settings. It seems that when a new section plane is created in Sketchup, it is set to be active by default for Indigo. But disabling section planes in SketchUp does not disable them for Indigo.

Re: Ruby code for Setting Active Section Planes
Pibuz, Sorry for not responding sooner! I agree: there's no real complication in working with section planes with Skindigo. But the following situation arises for me. I have a model with many different scenes. When I add a new section plane in a given scene, it is automatically set to be "active" fo...

Ruby code for Setting Active Section Planes
Sharing this in case it is of interest to anyone here... For Sketchup section planes to be active in Indigo, then must be enabled by right-clicking "Enable Section Plane" from the Skindigo submenu. This provides flexibility: different section planes can be enable or disabled as one pleases. However,...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.0.47 Beta Release
I am experiencing an "echo" or "blurring" or "smearing" of certain materials when rendering with OpenCL. Please see the images below. Both are from the same igs file: one generated from a render with OpenCL, the other without OpenCL. with-open-cl.png without-open-cl.png Here is the scene: http://cct...

Re: SkIndigo 3.8.25.3
Yes, thanks Ono! The scatter feature is a game changer. Being able to scatter large objects like trees as external meshes changes the game even more.

Re: SkIndigo 3.8.25.2 (beta)
Snorky: Thank you! Your explanation was perfect. I had no difficulty performing the hack as you described it. Scattering of external meshes is now working. (I'm going to write a little script to automate the "hacking" -- I can share it if anyone is interested.)

Re: SkIndigo 3.8.25.2 (beta)
Sorky, Lape, Cocash: Thank you for your postings on the topic! Snorky: I can confirm that your test file works. However, the issue is not only with default textures on the dummy that is scattered; it must be with my .obj files. (I exported these from Sketchup so the problem could be with the Sketchu...

Re: Object scattering with linked external meshes?
I am having the same issue as Snorky. Dummy components referencing external meshes render properly, but when scattered, the same dummy components have no textures. (See attached picture.) In the link above, the suggestion was to replace the default texture on the component with something (anything?)...

Re: SkIndigo 3.8.25.2 (beta)
I am having the same issue as Snorky. A dummy component referencing an external mesh works fine by itself, but the textures are lost when the dummy component is scattered. I have tried changing the textures of the dummy component, first to arbitrary textures and then to the textures of the component...
