Re: Norton Issues
Hi, I thought you might like to know that Norton Internet Security has been identifying Indigo as an unsafe program when I try to download it and it then promptly deletes it. It was doing the same thing with Octane but they seem to have fixed their issue and it only complains about their program be...

Re: higher resolution and downscale or stick with 1080?
I like it! With some work in the materials, it would be an awesome scene! But what about the fallen table? Looks like gravity is a little off... took me awhile to realize what you said... i see now. and it's a stool. I guess I should have rotated that so two legs and the seat were touching the grou...

Re: higher resolution and downscale or stick with 1080?
Very nice tone and lighting Jelko! It reminds me very much of something I'm tinkering with myself just at the minute! Materials do need work, but you know that anyway! Oh, and plenty more people than me have added great materials to the MatDB! but thanks for the shout thesquirell! thanks it w...

Re: higher resolution and downscale or stick with 1080?
Jelko, dober pocitek je pol dela! :) Keep it up, and browse through material library, to get a feel how materials work. Bubs has some awesome material systems in there, and there are some great metal mats too! oh I'm gonna keep it up alright.. the only reason I didn't start messing with the materia...

Re: higher resolution and downscale or stick with 1080?
Thanks! I will look into those right now. I didn't know what an exit portal was until yesterday and that's helped a ton already.Oscar J wrote:That looks really great already!
As you said, some of the materials could use some work - bump/specular maps in particular.

Re: higher resolution and downscale or stick with 1080?
good advice, thanks! I found out my first dislike with windows 10 - forced restart if you don't postpone in their time frame - NOT GOOD FOR OVERNIGHT RENDERING.. I had to set my wifi connection as metered so it wouldn't auto restart and I guess I wouldn't actually call it an overnight render since i...

higher resolution and downscale or stick with 1080?
I'm rendering a sketchup model in RT all night tonight - I've never done an overnight render before.. Is it better to render in 4000 x 4000 and scale what I want to 1920 x 1080? Or just render it in 1080 from the getgo? assuming the rendering time will be the same either way (last question for awhil...

Re: exit portals / exposure / bi d paths etc / sketchup
When something works in Reinhard tone mapping mode, and not in others, it usually means that your light power balance is off, and that you should: a) Increase the light power; b) Switch to camera mode, and adjust film ISO, or/and EV value. You could also pay attention to the camera's exposure time ...

Exit Portal Help!!
I am new to exit portals and can't seem to figure out how they work. I don't see the option to check like in the simple tutorial found here http://www.indigorenderer.com/documentation/manual/indigo-sketchup/tutorials/using-exit-portals-sketchup Check out my screen shot and see if you know what I'm d...

Re: PLEASE EXCUSE MY STUPIDITY -- indigo RT question(s)
Nevermind - forget about my problems haha
I need to read directions and practice patience.. I didn't finish reading exit portal and thought all it was was material cut out to allow the light through, I didn't realize I was editing mesh.
Thanks for all the help and I'm off to the tutorials now!

Re: PLEASE EXCUSE MY STUPIDITY -- indigo RT question(s)
Yes, a ceiling does make render times longer, although it makes it much more realistic as well of course. Have you tried exit portals? well I just looked up what exit portals were... and yes that's apparently what I have been using all along. But my recent model was using exit portals with another ...

Re: PLEASE EXCUSE MY STUPIDITY -- indigo RT question(s)
And does anyone know why models I get from the 3d warehouse render faster than the ones I build? Maybe because they know what they're doing? And I build all my models with roofs to mimic natural lighting, so I'm waiting longer for the light to bounce?
