Benchmarking interior lighting realism
Returning here after some years due I humbly consider this is the highest quality renderer I have seen on the market. Have had recently a meeting with an lighting company, both distributing and producing lighting products and designing specific solutions, mostly for hotels. They are interested into ...

I suppose is meaning the usage btw realtime and not is more superimposed but still separate. Als...

Re: Nvidia realtime ray tracing technology
So what you are saying is basically the usage of Indigo didn't superimpose never to the usage of tools such Unreal Studio. That's interesting for me since I thought this https://evermotion.org/files/publications_images/sl_00020_Untitled_2_8.jpg Can be considered competitive with this https://www.ind...

Looking at the new Nvidia Turing Rtx Gpu that integrate the new in hardware RT core realtime ray tracing accelerator I was wondering what are his limitations respect an unbiased renderer such as Indigo.

Re: Led lamp optical simulation
Apologize for not giving any feedback, I'm dividing my time among many different project and none of them so far involve the usage of rendering tools. Im in the feasibility study of a construction management support tool that might be, but to be seen also how the things are going to be. The meetings...

Re: Led lamp optical simulation
You are right the question was I'll posted. My idea is to find more topics to speak with the company marketing and R&D department, thinking about innovating methodology and tools. I was wondering if Indigo can be used for the ray tracing tasks done with this kind illumination design software https:/...

Led lamp optical simulation
Interested to know if Indigo as unbiased renderer is able to accurately simulate a led lamp and a front optic effect.
Need to meet with a local company producing specialized outdoor led lamps and that's why I'm interested on the topic.

Re: eGPU enclosure + GTX 1080 Ti /Mac
Having gone trough this path this is my opinion: eGPU are a useful tool if you are tight on budget or when you really need to work in mobility. With DIY eGPU I was able to speed up x5 or more any graphics process on an old laptop with about €250 cost (DIY kit + used GPU), a cost impossible to achiev...

Rove3D Beta Preview 2: Real-time Pathtracing in Unity
Seems interesting to me signal this news https://youtu.be/zeLJRtsvGAk The beta will be relaeased in December. Far from Indigo sophistication, but IMHO show a trend, with also the news of the integration of Octane https://blogs.unity3d.com/2016/11/01/unite-2016-keynote-wrap-up-news-on-graphics-platfo...

Re: HP Z2, mini workstation with Intel Xeon
The package is nice, problem is IMHO the GPU, from http://www.anandtech.com/show/10839/hp-z2-mini-g3-miniature-workstation-with-xeon-and-quadro article it's a Maxwell, 384 stream processors, 30 W TDP, really not enough for serious applications. With a TB3 port they will enable some eGPU case such as...

Re: TERRAGEN 4
Sometimes I'm surprised by how coincidences are coming together. Just in these days I was looking too for a terrain generation and population engine. Was attracted from Terragen both for his stunning results and the fact it's free for Edu projects. But my really personal needs and skills decided els...
