Re: Rotating IES files?
This is a limitation of Indigo, which I'm just working on removing. See attached render. (Note the rotated emitting quads) In the render below the directional basis for the IES emission is based on the surface normal, and the UV mapping. (e.g. the IES is oriented in the direction of increasing u co...

Re: Rotating IES files?
Hey BartS, i have a very similar problem with some IES-files. I am just encountering this problem again with an IES-file of a wallwasher. Either it looks to the North or to the East. There is no way, the wallwasher can be rotated in different directions. Not by 90 degrees or anything in between. Thi...

Re: Question about IES lights
Hey Zom-B, I really thank you for your afford, you put into my question. I am afraid, I was not able to explain my problem/question correctly. So let me explain my problem in a different way. Is it possible to use IES-files which are simulating a rectangular light-source, like an area light? The lig...

Re: Question about IES lights
Hey Zom-B, thank you very much for your fast reply! You will find the .c4d file and the IES-files attached to this post. To avoid any confusion: I am happy with the characteristic of the light. In the test rendering in the original post, I have 3 versions of lights. Each version is also rotated by 9...

Ono, can you explain the phrase with this "invisible to camera" thing a little bit further? Do we have invisible lights in future? OMG, i start...

Re: residential building with office
Really well done! Cool... I really like the pebbles on the right side of the building. People, sky and trees are already mentioned. Did you forget to texture the trunks of the small trees in front of the building, or was it wanted in that way? Do you have any idea how does it take to set up the scen...

Re: August 2012 competition - final renders
Ehi Carsten! Quite nice image! I just LOVE the dust on the floor, easter egg included ;) Is that a blendmat? Lighting by sun/sky or hdr? Thank you Pibuz. The floor is a mix of phong-material and oren-nayar. for the oren-nayar i used the same texture in albedo, but with a layer of a cloudy bright gr...

Re: August 2012 competition - final renders
You open the door to your freshly bought new apartment. Here you spent the last days and nights to make everything new. You enter the room, going to be your livingroom. Oh crap, its looking exactly the same, like you left last night. And you forgot the close the window. But its ok, there is even som...
