Re: Simple Renderings Thread

Just now finished this model and render. It's not anything spectacular, and I'm sure that it could have been modeled in a more efficient way, but I'm still pleased with it overall :) I don't have much experience in modeling so being able to finish something and have it look somewhat presentable was ...

Re: Simple Renderings Thread

Haven't been on the forums in a while, or tinkering with 3D at all for that matter, so I'm more than a bit out of practice but I tried to get a caustic effect again; something I never quite managed to accomplish even after I've had people explain it.... I didn't get the flashy rainbow effect but I d...

Re: Frequent crashes

Have you tried that latest C4D plugin? You should, it's much better in general. http://www.indigorenderer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=14093 Also, I compile against the latest version of R13 (v13.061), you are running v13.016. That could potentially cause some trouble. Ah, since the C4D updater n...

Frequent crashes

It's been almost a year or so since I've used any of my computer graphics software, having had to set the hobby aside for some time... Recently I've started reinstalling all my programs (Which are horribly out of date at this point, but I can't afford to upgrade any of them*shrugs*) and got Indigo R...

Love it so much.
I just saw that on your DeviantART - it's quite beautiful :)

Re: Simple Renderings Thread

Tried a few of the suggestions... Turned up the cauchy a slight amount, made the box surrounding the light as narrow as I could make it without the vertices actually intersecting each other, and tried using the IES file bubs provided. The IES made a noticeable effect on the scene, though it complete...

Re: Simple Renderings Thread

Re-rendered an old test scene of mine.

Caustics came out okay, though I still wonder how others have produced those fancier ones heh...

Re: Simple Renderings Thread

Hmmm.... Well I set up my projector model as closely as I could from the diagram you had shared earlier, but as long as I had the 'fresnel lens' mesh in no light would ever come out no matter how strong the emitter. On the image box, I applied a default glass material and one with absorption, with t...

Re: Simple Renderings Thread

Tried that earlier and all I got was a shadow being cast. (Glass material applied to the cube, except for the polygon facing the lens and wall which has the bitmap absorption material applied) Putting the image-based one on both faces - the one facing inward and the one facing outward - was the only...

Re: Simple Renderings Thread

Been a while since I've posted here ^^ Trying to re-create an effect I saw much earlier in the thread... http://indigorenderer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=123007#p123007 I'm getting a bit of an effect, but not exactly what is being produced there. At first I modeled it as closely as he could in his de...

Re: Zoom/BlowUp Region?

...about this, I started reading the rest of the maxwell help, and the "shift lens" chapter rang a bell in my head. So, at the moment the shift lens feature in Indigo actually shifts the image up/down/left/right of a certain amount of space. In real photography, the shift lens feature allow to capt...

Zoom/BlowUp Region?

One of the rendering modes Maxwell has is like Render Region, but instead of selecting a portion of the entire camera's field of view and only rendering that - with the rest of the image being blank - it zooms the camera in to the selected field and renders it at the same size. http://support.nextli...

That's what I was using for the top two images, I can't remember what I was using for the third one since it was so old.

Re: Simple Renderings Thread

Tried and failed for hours last night to get some pretty dispersion effects, with varying levels of success. Also tried some volumetric caustics based on what I had been reading in the forums, but I couldn't even get so much as a light to show up, let alone the crazy bouncing shafts of light and oth...

Re: Simple Renderings Thread

Ah, I didn't use an HDR for this - just a Sun Light... The shadows were added in later myself because I couldn't get the shadow catching to work even though there was a plane object beneath him D= I've never tried compositing 3D into photos with Indigo before - I've only ever done it in native Cinem...
