Re: Wishlist
Heres one I thought of, suspect this is more of a sketchup thing though rather than a skindigo one - I've been fiddling around with environmnent maps for a while, it would be so much easier if there was some manner of preview of the map, a low res version aligned with your camera view that rotates ...

Re: 1984 - Pool Balls by indigo
As Soup said - Normal smoothing is name of the game. Check this under material or geometry properties. Those are not pixels. Those are polygons and smoothing is obviously turned off. No offence but it is advisable to gather some basic knowledge about your 3D application. You don't have to read your ...

Re: Alpha renderer
Hi Reinuvader, there may be a clay mode that you can activate along with the alpha rendering. Ideally you would be able to specify the material used as clay. I am using Sketchup, and didn't find Clay mode in Skindigo. Is it somewhere hidden? I know in Blender there is switch to turn Clay renderer O...

Alpha renderer
Is there any other way to get good Alpha instead of using Alpha renderer. Current Alpha renderer suck. It computes shadows, and after 1 hour rendering I still don't get acceptable image. Non alpha rendering was acceptable after 6 hours. I got an idea to replace every material with black diffuse mate...

Re: Problem with windows...
Which tracing method you use? In rendering settings, under Advanced tab try Bidirectional MLT. But I agree, that this is problem that needs to be solved. I believe you are doing nothing wrong. Its just those tracing methods work differently, but I can't explain how they differ from each other, becau...

Re: Help for a begginer
OK, but do you know about the lowest/darkest values? what is darkest measured surface. Charcoal? How much I have to lighten it up? As I understand, it means I have to change my textures output values in Photoshop.
Re: Wishlist
Oh, and I almost forgot. Is it possible to have option under Render Settings to change world scale. Sometimes its easier to model in bigger or smaller proportions than result should be. For example I'd like to render some basic architectural volumes as maquettes (nice blurry DOF), but it's easier to...

Re: Help for a begginer
Oh, good to know. I didn't know this affects rendering speed. This makes me think, that maybe exporters should have slider or button to reduce all material and texture levels to fit in measured value.
Re: Wishlist
Not biggie, but it annoys me always when I install new Skindigo. I manually change preview scenes to get nice studio environment. Default scenes are a bit too uniformly lit, but I think it's better to see materials in dark environment with two light sources. This way I see shades and reflections bet...

Re: Help for a begginer
Thing is that interior renderings need almost always more rendering time. Less light are coming in, and we need more samples to lit the scene. OK, this maybe is bullshit what I just said, but thats what I think :) Exit portal doesn't suit your images, because you want to see other geometry through w...

Re: [REQ] Warning before interrupting rendering process
I don't want to turn it to fight how one should use computer, but I agree with pixie. I wouldn't like Are-you-sure style windows as I am rendering sometimes 4 test renders in minute and 20 tests in a row to get shadows and reflections right, and this window definitely would piss me off. Yes we are h...

Re: UV problems
Thank you for the link. I meant a tut about your SU->UVlayout->SU workflow, btw.. I can't promise you anything, but I definitely think about that suggestion. It would be good idea, because sometimes I need it myself. Mostly because I am frustrated that I have to scroll trough several UVLayout...

Re: UV problems
Thanks Whaat. This helped.
If you know where problem lies, maybe you could point it out for Sketchup developers. It seems to me that those guys have rested on their laurels for too long. If I'd know the problems core I would do it myself.
