Another crack at the http://www.octonus.com/oct/projects/adsorbtion_spectra.phtml web page, this time the sapphire. Their image does look dark ... but this one looks REAL dark. You decide.
...and I hope the file isn't empty :/
On the dark thing. This is a 10cm sphere with an opaque substance in the centre...I think on a realistic sized gem object it would look about right.
