IOR is the average of the whole Tabulated Refract wavelengths, cauchy is the difference between first and last value of Refract.
The material seems quite dark, its because of the 10cm sphere with solid core, works good on life size gems!
Amethyst 1.532 - 1.554, according to the table I have, so the IOR is correct :)
