Re: Simple Renderings Thread
neat isn't it, but it's just the carpaint material, but instead of phong it uses diffuse and oren nayar for each of its blends.dcm wrote:Carpaint ? Looks like aluminium vinyl foil or silk

Re: Simple Renderings Thread
I never said it was, I said it was 'kind of a', because I downloaded the material, and the only thing I've changed was the material type from phong to diffuse/oren nayar. Pretty much about it, the original material is that of the link.dcm wrote:Im very big car enthusiast but this isnt carpaint

Re: Simple Renderings Thread
hmmm, it looks like MLT noise in the image it's a diffuse transmitter on the right side? that might explain the extra noise (compared to directly visible lights).
Re: Simple Renderings Thread
should be PT but with high SS

Yeah I know yes it's a semi transparent paper/lampshade sort of material!lycium wrote:hmmm, it looks like MLT noise in the image it's a diffuse transmitter on the right side? that might explain the extra noise (compared to directly visible lights).
I tried PT on it's own but couldn't get rid of the fireflies!! high ss?
EDIT: Ohhh super samples? It's currently on 4 with BiDirPT

Re: Simple Renderings Thread
you'll want to use bidir because of the diffuse transmitter.
