Carpaint ? Looks like aluminium vinyl foil or silk

neat isn't it, but it's just the carpaint material, but instead of phong it uses diffuse and oren nayar for each of its blends.

Im very big car enthusiast but this isnt carpaint

it looks like vinyl foil , like this frozen grey :)

I never said it was, I said it was 'kind of a', because I downloaded the material, and the only thing I've changed was the material type from phong to diffuse/oren nayar. Pretty much about it, the original material is that of the link.

It's still rendering, 2 hours in at 1900 samples! 8)

my advice as before on dA: don't use MLT unless you have to! :P

hmmm, it looks like MLT noise in the image :?: it's a diffuse transmitter on the right side? that might explain the extra noise (compared to directly visible lights).

Yeah I know :lol: yes it's a semi transparent paper/lampshade sort of material! :)

I tried PT on it's own but couldn't get rid of the fireflies!! :( high ss?

EDIT: Ohhh super samples? It's currently on 4 with BiDirPT

you'll want to use bidir because of the diffuse transmitter.
