Hey,
The Indigo Material Editor refuses to render for some reason. Anyone else experience this? I haven't touched it in a long time, so it may be that I have a very old inifile.xml or something, but it complains about the <mn_cubic> parameter and when I change that to </box> or something else, it says it can't read the XML file...
Any ideas? Would someone care to shoot me their inifile.xml to check with?
Thanks!
Material Editor - won't render
Re: Material Editor - won't render
The material editor is from Indigo 2 stable, the executable doesn't relate with Indigo 3 no more. I'm not sure what you are trying to do there
Perhaps are you installing successive Indigo versions into the same folder and the application was never removed ?

Ah yeah, that's probably the case. I've just been installing to the same folder so that I don't have to keep updating the Indigo path
Didn't realize it was 'discontinued'! What's going on with it there?

Re: Material Editor - won't render
Well mainly Indigo 3 is integrating the material creation process (File > New Material loads the material preview scene optionally). Add stable material editors in exporters on top and the standalone app was discontinued, end of story.
But I'm making this up really, I did not take part in the related choices. Uneducated guess that is.
edit: if there are any feature that you miss from the standalone material editor let us know in a request topic, that would be a good base to start with. Hopefully the UI will become more versatile after Indigo 3 stable is out.

Yeah, that makes sense. I was just looking to quickly mock up some materials without starting a new scene Blender doesn't have a built-in material preview yet but I guess that will come eventually.CTZn wrote:Well mainly Indigo 3 is integrating the material creation process (File > New Material loads the material preview scene optionally). Re: Material Editor - won't render
you can still launch a new Indigo instance, create the materials from there and import them back into the Indigo session holding the scene to edit and render.
Likely material edition will remain part of the main app. Anyhow as I mentioned in the edit above it is time to let know your preferences for the future, in terms of functionality etc.
