Texture problem.

Post by Stromberg » Fri Jul 15, 2011 1:44 am

Hy.

I have had this problem for a little time now, but have not taken the time to post on the forum yet.
When I am making scenes and materials, it seams like the diffuse and maybe the exponent texture get's ignored, bump seams to work.

I have tried with both tga and jpeg same problem.

Material settings: A phong with IOR of 2 and 100 in glossiness.

Here is an example.

Diffuse(Made it green to show it better, since it was dark to begin with)

Bump:

Here is how it looks in Indigo, you can even see that the opengl preview shows the green diffuse.

Your IOR could be way too high, in which case you won't see much of the diffuse color at all. What is your IOR set to?

Well I set my IOR to 1.1 and got same result, and 2 is really not that high.
It's not set as metalic since that is it's own material entry in maxigo.

Here is a screenshot of the material settings.

What Maxigo version and what Indigo version are you using?

Well as it turned out I used Indigo 3.0.10 and Maxigo 2.6, I did install the newest once and tried again.
And it works fine now :)

I did check the changelog first to see if it was mentioned, but since it was not I tought I did use the latest version.

Sorry for bothering you, nice work on the interface in maxigo 2.7 :)

Great !
The issue with Maxigo 2.6 and Indigo 3.x is, that I tested some texture smoothing stuff in 2.6 and forgot to take it out. It adds smoothing tag to every texture (including diffuse) and while it works with Indigo 2.6 (textue smoothing not supported), all textures turn to greyscale in Indigo 3.x.
