[BUG] Post-Pro Aperture Diffraction

Post by Zom-B » Thu Aug 19, 2010 11:20 pm

Using post-Pro Aperture Diffraction uses a lot aof RAM as we know, the higher the SuperSampling the more!

The Problem is that in latest Indigo version once it was activated and RAM usage of Indigo raised, Indigo doesn't free the RAM after disabling Aperture Diffraction!
It was like this in earlier versions if I remember correctly!

Another problem here is that Indigo uses the full internal Res to calculate the AD, before downsampling it.
This has 3 issues:

1) RAM usage explodes for higher SS values.
3) long calculation times.
2) hot pixels that you wan't to prevent by high AA get visible again :(

I would like to request here to change the calculation to the Downsized igi.
At least a checkbox for changing the behavior (full res AD or Downsampled) should be availible (like in old Violet versions)!

Another thing is that IF Obstacle maps are supported for PostPro AD, they should be loadable in the GUI to, and you can should be able to change them on the fly!

Why not request it to be on a separate layer as you go ?

So I guess this happens because PP AD is calculated at full SS resolution?
