Hey,
Here is the test version i've been talking about.
It is not a full package, but contains only files that have been updated. Just copy them over to previous Maxigo installation.
Since this is a test version, then you can expect a lot of bugs and missing/non-working stuff. My only goal with this version is to get some feedback about the re-written Import Material. I dumped my old xml parser code and started to use the dotNet parser. So guys - please test and report back if the material importing is working or not. I'm specially interested if it works outside my box at all.
NB! dotNet is not working in Max versions prior to 9.

Change log:

added - Maxigo displacement modifier (not working with procedurals)
added - Indigo Sphere primitive under Maxigo geometry category (not working when exporting to xml format)
added - Network rendering modes
changed - ImportMat rewriten to use dotNet parser
changed - bump maps have decimal values now
fixed - various fixes on bump and exponential export

So guys - please TEST the ImportMat and REPORT back !!

A small update -Maxigo 1.15.7-Test1a.zip

There should be a better displacement export now. Those broken edges should be gone + it is now scale dependant. Please test!

Great stuff, Suvakas!

It's working for me (using Max 2008.) I imported a couple of materials from the Materials Database and they all imported fine - no errors or anything.

I noticed, however, that a material that has a Displacement Map doesn't displace in Indigo, but as this is still a test version I'm sure that's one of the things you're still working on.

Will give it a go later today - nice to see you still woring on updating it. Might keep me using Max just a bit longer :lol:

They go to 3ds Max scripts folder. Just copy the 2 folders inside the zip over your existing Maxigo and Startup folders inside 3ds Max/Scripts folder (overwrite the old ones if asked) and you should be good to go.

ok suv i have the first report....

all works fine...until now.....
about import material i add an displase mat from the gallery works fine....
also i have little error msg when i import this material "Diamond Fancy Yellow "

here is the msg....and i thin dont import and renders correctrly after i press ok..

There is no displacement in viewports. It is applied during the rendering time only.

@Kosmo
The error message is correct. Materials using tabulated data are not supported (which is what the error is telling you :wink: ).

Well..try to increase the strength then.
Also the default iterations value may be too low for a box so increase that too.

i've resolved with displ. but I do not understand the black line, sorry suvakas
