Does Maxigo 0.9.4 work with 3d studio max 5.1 ?

Post by hylt » Thu Sep 27, 2007 1:56 am

Hi There

Can anyone tell me if Maxigo 0.9.4 works with 3d studio max 5.1 ?
I've set it up as per the instructions in the read me file but when I get to this part of the instructions:

* Start the script by clicking the button.
I get a Macroscript Error Exception which reads:

--Syntax error: at while, expected "do" or "collect"
--in line for theFace in faces while map/verticies. count == 0 do

there is no sign of an exporter dialog window as it says they should be.

Anybody any ideas? Or does this not work with 3ds max 5.1 ?

Kindest Regards

Hylt

Hi hylt,
I have no idea. The oldest Max version Maxigo has been tested on is 6. If there were some changes in maxscript between versions 5 and 6, then yeah, it may not work on 5.

Hi Suvakas

I don't know if there is any changes between max 5 and max 6, but I guess as it doesn't seem to work the answer maybe yes.

It's a shame as I was looking forward to using Indigo with max, looks like I may go the blender route unless I can find another exporter.

Thanks for the help anyway.

Kindest Regards

Maxscript's syntax changed radically (as Suvakas says) from max5 to max6, so yep, the lowest version maxigo works with is 3ds max 6.
