Hi There,

can anybody tell me if there is an exporter for 3d studio max 5.1?

I've tried Maxigo but it doesn't seem to work with 5.1 so if anyone knows of a suitable exporter please let me know.

Kindest Regards

Hylt

If it's not on this site, I'm sorry, but I'm pretty sure, there isn't anyone.

I can help you with blender, if you want to^^ - first tip, if you prefer modelling in Max and exporting to Blender, don't use the 3Ds export, but obj.
3Ds gives random normalproblems, when importing to blender ;)

second: select with right mouse button! ;)

Latest working version with max5 is U3dreal's Max2Indigo, you can grab it here:
http://files.wildspad.com/afecelis/indi ... I0.612.rar
But it only works with indigo 0.5/0.6

I agree with Kram1032, you could model in 3dsmax, export to obj and then render using blendigo. I've tried that workflow myself and works great.

There's a max 5 exporter somewhere. If I find it I'll link you to it.

EDIT:found it in my backups! grab it here:(max 2 obj)
Max 4-5:

Max 6:

Hi There

Many thanks afecelis that has been a great help.

I see quite a few people on the forum are asking for a Lightwave exporter which would be good as I do have the latest version of Lightwave (Just downloaded 9.3 from my Newtek account) so I'll keep my fingers crossed that some kind person manages to produce one.

Thanks again for all the help, it's a very helpful and friendly forum.

Kindest Regards

NP hylt! ;)
If you got lightwave you can model, texture, and uvmap there and also export to obj. Indigo loads objs directly, but I got no idea how to handle light in that case, so I guess a good workflow would be lighthtwave-->obj-->blender-->blendigo
so you can place lights and emitters and sun and take advantage of blender's exporter.
