Originalplan® wrote:@contegufo Nice find!

So testin the V4 for about two weeks in. I didn't find any new & critical Bugs on my part.
Maybe this was a bit early :)

Found a new BUG : GPU render does not support rendering Alpha setups. Renders the whole scene alpha.
Bidir & els working fine.

Plus found a new easter egg: Hold down alt + grab the Indigo App frame from the bottom and resize it! :)

Exporter related BUG : OSX Cindigo latest v3 build.

So Cindigo does not like when exporting Cloned objects that have Random effector specially in the Rotation segment. No workaround simply this error message. It works when i delete the rotation effector.

any word from dev's about this igi resume issue? it's really messing with my workflow.

also, not sure if this is a bug or just outdated, but I tried merging 2 igi's from terminal with the --merge_igi command and a file list and I get an error that the igi's can't be read. this happens with v 4 and 3.8 both.

Code: Select all

Failed to open file 'blah-blah-myfile.igi' for reading

yeah, at least it was a thing... maybe the igi spec changed?

used to be the command was:
./IndigoConsole --merge_igi listoffilestomerge.txt outputfile.igi

wow this is incredible, my scenes is going from around 1m/s to over 10m/s with my gpus. If I own v3 is there an upgrade I can purchase or do I have to purchase a full v4 license?

Have updated all download links in the first post to v4.0.36.

-------------------

Changelog:

4.0.36
* Fixed problem with measured BRDF not being transferred during network rendering.
* GPU PT: Fixed crash on arch glass.
* GPU PT: fixed displacement shaders, were giving compile errors.
* GPU PT: Total used constant memory should now be < 64KB, which is the min guaranteed supported amount.
* Optimised and improved Indigo's phong, coating etc.. materials

4.0.35
* Much faster rendering with motion blurred objects in most cases.
* Identifying material in error message for OpenCL processing failure.
* Not writing some XML elements if they have the default values - in <mesh>, <model2> etc..
* Accepting <uid> as well as <material_uid> in model2 material list. (saves space)

4.0.34
* GPU PT: Will show error dialog to users now on GPU path tracing init failure.
* GPU PT: Fixed crash on Linux.
* GPU PT: Improved handling of base emission for GPU, now handles all spectra types.

-------------------

The test scenes (car and bedroom) should now work on all OpenCL 1.1+ compliant devices. Just don't expect it to run fast on old GPUs :)
