Specify blackbody temp for the envmap

Post by galinette » Wed Oct 20, 2010 9:47 am

Dear all,

I would like to set the blackbody temperature for the HDR envmap in Maxigo. Is it possible?

Currently, when I use skindigo, it does not allow me to set the temperature, but in the generated IGS, there is a blackbody defined for the emitter, so it is possible to tweak the temperature with a text editor.

In the igs generated by maxigo, it seems that the old envmap xml syntax is still used, so it is not possible to change the illuminant temperature without editing the igs more heavily.

Would it be possible to switch to the new envmap igs code in files generated by maxigo, and to add an envmap temperature setting in maxigo?

Thanks,

Etienne

Hi galinette,

In Maxigo you would have to use IndigoMain material for the background with emission enabled under material settings..
The old envmap syntax was left in cause at some point it produced less fireflies and rendered faster. I'm not sure what's the situation now though.

Anyway, I made a quick screenshot for you. I hope it helps.

Thanks, that should exactly what I want.

Would it be possible to set a tabulated illuminant instead of a blackbody? It's currently possible in the IGS code (see this thread http://www.indigorenderer.com/forum/vie ... =5&t=10294) and very useful for having color-proof illumination.

Thanks,

Etienne

Unfortunately not. There is currently no way how to use tabulated data with Maxigo.
It was in my to-do list a while ago, but I'm currently busy rewriting the entire exporter so... Old list is on hold atm.
