"Free" HighRes HDRI by NVIDIA

Post by Zom-B » Fri Feb 16, 2007 2:24 am

Hey guys & gals...

I just tried to test the NVIDIA Adrianne TechDemo on my 6800LE Card,
but just get an Error that my Hardware isn't compatible

So I browsed the folder where I installed the TechDemo, and suprisly I found a nice HDRI Cross in EXR Format :)

So I converted this Cross using C4D AdvancedRender Module, to get a cool 4096x3072 HDRI image,
that surly can't be used for commercial projects, but for some nice privat renderings it should be fine

HERE you can grab the TechDemo
HERE a Video of Adriane

HERE the converted LatLong exr @ Rapidshare

And finally a Preview Image of this nice HDR, first one original, second one tonemapped to better see the Details...

Happy Rendering :D

BTW: No Idea what this green Blobs on the Ground should be

These HDRIs are done by stitching, not with a probe. The marks on the floor are to orient the camera I guess, or maybe to stich easily later.

OK, I edited both posts with download links of the LatLong exr files @ Rapidshare, have fun!
(to download the second file without waiting, just disconnect and then reconnect to the internet  )

hi ZomB, thanks, but your converted panoramas, are not exactly in spherical format.. ratio of sides should be 2:1 --> 4096x2048, not 4096x3072, i don't know if it will cause problem to indigo...

Hey carbon...
I converted the HDRI Cross using Cinema 4D's integrated PlugIn for Cross & Probe convertation.
It shouldn't be any Problem, because the image gets stretched to fit perfectly on the sky dome... afaik!

than it is all ok, i though that would be problem as a photographer, i know a lot about qtvr and all panoramic stuff, for example most of pano viewers expects 'equirentagular' (2:1) images..

btw, that means, you can load any exr image into indigo?

just latLong will work (correctly)...
for spherical HDRI's you have to use them in .float fileformat :?

ah, in qtvr terminology 'spherical' = 'equirectangular' which is latlong (the only place where i saw this attribution was in hdrshop :? , and indigo of course ), its the same image, when you say spherical, or equirectangular panorama, latlong as well. i know what is indigos spherical, but thiss projection should be called probe? or polar? i don't know exactly.. but its all just words :)
