Re: Some renderings
Thanks Pibuz!
This pic was somewhat hard to render, due to the high number of holes in the dome structure (no glass). I tried with a spherical exit portal but the result was the same that without it.
So rendering time was about 16 hours in MLT bidir (pathtracing bidir produced a lot of noise, in 2-3 hours of rendering it did not show any promising progress...).
Ciao.

Re: Some renderings
Some rendered grass.
I have been playing with the SurfaceSpread plugin in Cinema4D. Scene setup was fast, and the grass plants was rendered as instances.
SurfaceSpread allows to scale and rotate the clones in a selectable random way.
I enjoyed the very fast scene export from Cinema, and the almost instant rendering startup in Indigo. Great!
My "summer machine" is a MacBook Pro with 4 Gb of RAM and a 2.5 GHz Core Duo CPU, so it was a great surprise for me to seeing Indigo doing this rendering with not much effort.
Rendering time was about 30 minutes.
Ciao.

Re: Some renderings
looks really good, how many clones did you create? to my experience few instances work really great but if you're getting to bigger amounts: 50-100k or more, export can get really annoying and may take up to 5-10min already.juan_irender wrote:Some rendered grass.

unfortunately this is an c4d issue, not indigo related...

Re: Some renderings
Hi Mor4us.
I've use 15000 clones in this scene. As long as you use render instances to replicate the plants, I think you should have short exporting times.
For producing grass in Cinema4D, it's better to use Mograph or other similar software (like SurfaceSpread) with render instances, instead of the hair module.
Thanks!

Re: Some renderings
Nice test. For the matter it is rather not too expansive to apply one or two subdivision levels on grass meshes.

Re: Some renderings
Hi all.
I hope 2014 will be a great time to achieve our dreams.
I left here a new pic, scene was modeled with Cinema4D Greebler plugin.
Ciao.
