Playing with fire

Post by suvakas » Sun May 10, 2009 5:36 am

Playing with fire and Indigo ... :P
Kind of liked what I got. I remember, when it was hard to get such results with Indigo, but since emitter is a real material now, something like this is very easy to create.
Comments are welcome.

Thanks guys for the positive feedback!

The firewood is made with Indigo displacement. These are just some simple extruded shapes with displacement map on top.
Flames are emitters with an alpha map. All simple stuff really. I could maybe make a small how-to, but it would be quite Max oriented then, cause I don't know how to setup materials in other packages. (materials like this will be very easy to create in next Maxigo version  )

Ps. I edited the 1st post and added links to higher resolution renderings.

Come on suv :) You mean mapped emission blended with a null material isn't it ?
