haha Pibuz! i know why i wasn t able to find again the good tonemaping. because i changed turbidity
to answer indirectly to your post about turbidity, in every software i had tested before, i remember the value always had to be between 2 and 7, never under or over (maxwell and v ray)
gonna post the final renders soon.

hi

here is a scene i downloaded ont hte googlesketchup 3Dwarehouse.
It is a DOUGLAS House done by Richard Meier, great architect.

i m agreably surprised because the background image was already in the model, ~10meters behind the windows, and i think it fits quite not bad in the render. sure it could be better but it was a firts test i did with this technique.

there are yellow weird issures on the chairs... i think it comes from the original model. i just opened it, setted one or two materials and clicked render and went to bed. so this is the brute render i got this morning when i woke up.

Not bad at all! I think it really needs some light settings tweaking, but it's a good start indeed!

Hi all

Here is my last work, it s the continuation of the project i was working on about Paris Austerlitz Train Station.
The aim of this work is not totally to do photoreallistic images, it is more graphic, I was looking for a way to make people see what is already existing, and what part of the image is the project (Although for those who know this train station it is easy, and for those who don t know it, it is simple to explain, you cannot see further than 10 meters in front of you...). Also, I hate the way some graphists put tranparent blurred peeps on images, so i was trying to find a way to put peeps... i am not totally satisfied but i kinda like them.

I think exterior views really suxx and need more poetic treatment, but it s still wip, i think i will be able to change it by this afternoon! i have more focused on the interior views these times...

C&C are really welcome
For the moment i really find the general stuff very grey, i was trying to give it a more white tone...

Ono, to reply to your question : http://www.indigorenderer.com/forum/vie ... f=3&t=7338 about how many triangles : approximatively 30million  (omg my poor computer)

Something that gets quite not enough attention in archviz these days ^^

I also hate these 2D people... I think your solution is more elegant, maybe being green isn't the way I would go. I kind of like the SketuchUp black prefabs for getting this done.

You did a really good job here... only crit from me is the quite messy floor textures your are using :P

hey again!
thanks Zom-B. actually, i think the POVS of the exterior views are really bad, i did them really quick.
THe question about visibility wasn t about archiviz, but the real stuff. this station was built around 1790' and since this date, there have been many and many intervention, accumulation and now it s an aggeration of horrors  for example instead of the big hole in the centre, there is a parking and you canot see through the beatiful hall.

Here are the new exterior views, i am more satisfied now!

I think we have a better vision of the urban skyline/context, because we didn t see it in the previous version, and it is one of the major information of these views!

C&C still welcome

Hi Djegoo!
Your work leaves me really impressed, indeed.

I've got some questions for you, if you're willing to answer:
1. Do you model in SU? I like yor trees a lot, maybe we can make a deal
2. 30million polygons? How do you handle such a big load of geometry? What size do you render your images? Your Supersample factor? Hom many light layers?
3. I like your attempt to populate the scene with 2d vanishing silhouettes: maybe I would turn them white, instead of green. Maybe you could use greyscale images showing real people for the nearest ones, using some motion blur, and then make them white the further they are.

Thank you for posting!

Hi Pibuz.
I am really glad you like it!
Of course i will answer to your questions, and of course i can share the tree, i found it on the googlesketchuhp warehouse :) but i modded it a little, so if you prefer i can send it by email to you.

Iin fact, 30 million polygons if i replace all the dummies by real ones, but when i only display the dummies, i only have 1Million!!! hahahahah BIG thanks to Whaat and skindigo instancing/proxies system!
But i have lots and lots of layers in my sketchup model! i really had to be extremely organised otherwise it s a catastrophy!. I originally rendered the images at 2000X1000, at supersample factor 2. I think the big advantage of this graphism is that i did not need to wait for long rendering to have supa-clear images, since there would be the sketchup wiewport over it.

I already tryed turning the people white, but it made the image a little flat/grey/sad, especially when we make them vanish :( in fact it is the first time i put peeps on images, but for this kind of project, i must. I chosed the green because the overall tone of the images is cold/fresh, and i have tryed so many colors! but i still need to work on it! To be honest, and i am sure you guessed it, i have been inspired a lot by your images on you blog  but i really need to work on my graphism techniques!

You'll have to find a solution for the ground, it's clothing half the image :) On a procedural point of view, using a noise to slightly alterate the albedo strenght is a good start, then again for exponent, bump, whatever :) What options do you have ?

I'd be ok with the silhouette's green but it's just too intense, maybe saturated ?

I think the figure's presence is way above what's required for a clear representation of the whole setup, I'd go for pastels, or "holographic" tones. About two thirds lighter I guess, easy... for say, I'd test a tinted white.

The night render is very impressive djegoo, how many lamps already ?

hi CTzn
Thanks for commenting. I have 211 lamps in the night scene.
I agree the images have a lot of ground. maybe i should crop them or use camera shifting in my Skindigo, i was learning to use it, so sweet easy!

i tryed another type of postpro, because i find this one something too girly... (hum...) maybe the colors... i ll post soon

HI

finally opted for the "realistic style" for the existing part, and for the s"sketchup fineliner" style for the new part of the images adn the overall blended the same way as before. I changed for no colors, i find it muuuuch better. Wonder how i can have done the ones above! they are so ugly... i find this version need to pay more attention tu read, invites to look more attentively, but much better .

C&C are still welcome !

IMO now there's too much emphasis on line, everywhere you see the pictures are fully crowded of lines, where before you had only people standing up now everything pops up, that's my main critic.
