Alfa Romeo

Post by Sparlin » Tue Jul 07, 2009 2:10 am

Hello again, I just though I might show you what I've been working on for the last week. Its the new Alpha Romeo 8C Competzione.

I've been experimenting with tree generators as well and decided to combine the two. The result basically killed my computer for a good hour whilst it loaded the scene, due to it running out of ram.

I'm fairly pleased with the outcome, but there's still lots to do in terms of background content.

This was rendered with Indigo 2.0.9 and modelled in Blender.

Heya Sparlin,

I like the model - do you think you could render a red one in a typical car photo-shoot studio? With a few rectangular meshlights and a dark-grey infinity wall? Seems nicely modelled. :)

Yes it looks like a brilliant but frankly the background isn't doing it justice.

+1

When I saw the picture my first thought was "Huh ? A good old EGA picture ?"
Then I saw the very good model.

Your generated trees kill your hand made hard work on your car dude.

Ok, trees will go. I've just got to re-learn how to do descent lighting set ups for studios, again!

I like the trees... it's the dark ground eating the modeling I believe.

Update!

I've returned to a studio setup, and the results look promising.

Looks great! I guess the render wants more samples per pixel. Maybe, render over night? But apart from pixel count - great image :)

p.s. and those lights are quite dark as for me.
