First post here, so hello everyone!
I just wanted to try indigo and liked to know if it be usable to rendering characters, I'm quite happy with results and i think i will be use indigo more often from now on. I also notice that epidermis, dermis stuff is not implemented in correct way, i cant say exactly what don't work there, but it don't work how it should for sure, anyway here is first render.

I can post screens from blender's view port later if u want.
Hope U like it.

Thats realy nice
Maybe some less sss on the ears as they are glowing a bit to much for my taste.
Other than that it's great

Stromberg there is no sss on this guy, just two phong shaders, red colour comes from albedo texture, but yeah You are right mate, there is to much red there i must work on texture little longer. thank You for comment.
vmuriel, glad U like it, thanks for reply:)

Nothing special in material settings, i just blend two materials.

blender/zbrush, i usually start sculpting in blender and finish it in zbrush, but i have many models that was sculpted only in blender, zbrush is great for texture painting and sculpting on really heavy mesh, but if i dont need many details i use only blender.
This one for example only textures was painted in zb, all other things in blender

Okey guys back on the track!!
Can You give me some comments about lighting, shading, texturing something to make this guy more realistic, i know that he can look much better (i talking about vampire of course)

That's a hard one to answer: He's far from looking like how I'd imagine vampires. For me, that looks perfect - except, as said, for the ears being too transparent...

Hey maqs, welcome to Indigo... a great stuff you post here!
We really lack in nice Character renderings atm :/
to enhance you model apereance go for some Exponent Map! Its a Map used for phong (or glossy ransparent Materials) to control amount of the exponent on the mesh by a BW map. Much Exponent = better reflections, low Exponent creates reflections less clear...
You also can Blend different materials together to get some "specular map" effekt, you can find a Tutorial
here
For a nicer result some pose and a more dramatic camera angle could help a lot
The Epi-/Dermis System is really slow atm, and the need of two meshes makes it very uncomfortable to use! I think Ono is going to change it to a layered material some day, with better control via maps etc.
I look forward to see more of your renderings

Well kram, that's because you didn't read mags answer on ears: they are not transparent, the albedo is just too red there.
It may not be working for the vampire but if the woman head is using those you just got the best result I've ever seen with dermis/epidermis, is that the case ? Afaik only aleksandera tried to mimic skin that hard, and he was happier too with mixed phongs, iirc. Subsurface scattering gives that plus you may want, but it's tricky at the beginning.
Astounding artwork, hopefully you can populate the galery with some of your renders !

Would be great!
CTZn if i remember correctly, i made two materials and blend them together, (dermis+oren nayar ) + (epidermis+phong) it give me the best results, if I use dermis/epidermis in correct way, it don't give me expected results, and I'm hundred percent sure I doing all rightly
here is two tests i made.

Sorry for the model just quick unfinished sculpt.
ZomB Thank You for link, it was very helpful for me!
I made some changes in shader, hope now looks better.
edit.
slightly different version

(just a general wondering)
Why is the info text blurred like that on the last image?
Almost feels like a photograph of an LCD monitor.
