Motion blur?

Post by neo0. » Wed Dec 17, 2008 12:59 pm

I don't really understand whats going on here, but it's like my scene was moving really fast and someone took a picture of it.. The longer I render the scene the contrast also goes bye bye... which I don't understand either.

Lighting is an open EXR

I think you have resumed a render from an IGI after the camera was moved in the scene. Then the two shots are superimposed. If you want to resume an image don't move anything in the scene between the two operations.

But what a great way to do motion blur!

Below is an example of 18 renders stacked together.

The idea is to render for a few minutes,
stop, move the geometry, then resume the render.
This way a blurred image will build up in the .igi.

With a script to do the work, its not that
different from a normal render.

Hey, looks quite cool. :P
But when you already start faking it, then i think it would be faster to use Photoshop.. :)

doing it the way Musorgki says is no fake actually suv*, moving the geometry can be done through a dynamic engine :)

Custom igi names would be cool to script that easier (ie retrieve named file and resume from it).

Musorgki, you beat me at it ;)

* edit: well ok it's a bit of fake since it's not really continuous

nice effect
perhaps ono can make use of the shader language maths to move the location/rotation of the meshes as the render progresses?
