How did you add the background?

Looks to me like a Plane with a simple diffuse texture or a well placed env map.

Delle, I think bidir must be off for alpha rendering, or something alike.

Well, he mentioned he added it with photoshop, which is why I was wondering. It seems like a much better way to go than sticking a plane in front of your scene, because it blocks your light.

Of course you can go the hard way and refuse to use the alpha image as a mask in photoshop :roll:

I could be wrong, but I think Ono mentioned that you can enable alpha renders in inifile.XML. Supposedly you can set a cvar (I think it was like "render_alpha" or something) to true, but I don't see anything there about alpha..

neo0., I'm glad to declare that either you are wrong, or you lie, or you have dyslexia. I can see it clear in the manual, wich no one will quote here for your ba... ah sorry you're not that kind of guy :twisted:

Look, I already admitted that I might be wrong. Im just asking simple question. How do you enable alpha renders? This is the inifile

Code: Select all

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

<config>
	<renderer_settings>
		<metropolis>false</metropolis>
		<bidirectional>true</bidirectional>

		<downsize_filter>
			<!--<box/>-->
			<mn_cubic>
				<ring>0.2</ring>
				<blur>0.6</blur>
			</mn_cubic>

			<!--<gaussian></gaussian>-->
		</downsize_filter>

		<super_sample_factor>2</super_sample_factor>

		<aperture_diffraction>true</aperture_diffraction>
		<post_process_diffraction>true</post_process_diffraction>
	</renderer_settings>
</config>

There is nothing about alpha renders in there.

Do yourself a favor, grab cinema demo and cindigo and you'll solve most of this problems (or sketchup, or blender)
