Here's a small test to see if Indigo would recreate a lamp i have at home just the way it is in real life.
I'm not done tweaking it because the effect I have at home is much nicer, but it's close nonetheless. I'm a tad bothered by the artifact at the top though.

Hmmm I'll try that. Right now theyre just duplicates of the same shapes so I'll have to delete them all.CTZn wrote:bend the quads, make them 4 or 9 polys and bend them, quite subtly, for much nicer caustics.
I'll probably take this opportunity to increase their numbers and make them slightly small as it seems there are more in my real lamp than my virtual version of it.

They could be instances of the same shape; what matters is their angle to the light source, so if they are identical that would not matter much I believe... You can have like 3 versions instanced too... it's up to youRight now theyre just duplicates of the same shapes so I'll have to delete them all.
