sweet tea

Post by dmn » Thu Oct 30, 2008 5:37 pm

I picked up some glasses the other day that I thought were neat. and I (know everyone's already done the exact same liquid in a glass render (since the beginning of time( but I haven't so))) thought it would be fun and educational (the best kind of fun) to model and render them, so here's one, already in use. It's all modeled with out textures, I may want to add some bump to the ice and the coaster, and full texture to the table surface, and I may add some more geometry later. But not tonight as I'm tired :D Yes I was lazy using an exr for the background (haven't tried that before) but I can't complain about the lighting effect and rendertime. Obviously when you look at the closeup there is something funky going on with the glass, that may have to do with how it's modeled and just needs some tweaking (again, I know I've seen this in the other million 'liquid in a glass' posts, setsmooth or edgesplit or something) any way, "woulj'all like a swaet tae?"

The tea-material looks about right.
You don't think the artifact might be a case of not enough overlapping between the meshes?

Offtopic, I know, but what dialect? I'm no expert but it sounds like someone going from Texan to Australian in mid-sentence. :?
