Eurocopter Ec135

Post by HHS81 » Mon Sep 01, 2008 4:53 am

Hi,

I'm currently rebuilding the EC135 helicopter for the OpenSource FlightSimulator FlightGear.

For checking the right proportions I use several renderer like yafray and at least of course, Indigo! :D (because FlightGear has no shaders yet :-()

I struggle with some problems: there is a strange black effect on the fuselage and parts of the tail and fenestron.

The heli is poly-by-poly modelled and in Blender with the "modifier-> Smooth" and "Setsmooth" smoothed.

I wonder why and how can I solve this?

Regards

Great looking helicopter.! :)

The black parts are normal problems because you use set smooth on to sharp edges..
You can try to use the EdgeSplit modifier and see if that helps..

It's easy... just add subsurfe and check your faces or just select all faces and press CTRL + N, should help.

Actually, I think kstockolm is right, just add an edgesplit modifier and it should be better.

Very nice model !
