Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Gio
Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Gio
Hey guys..
I have been trying to render a Gio bottle, but i have run into a little problem..
I have 2 different renders here.. one is just a glossy transparent for the bottle, but in the second I have tried to add a little sss but it turns the inside black..? Any ideas to why that happens..?

The liquid inside should overlap the inside wall of the glass - you can see a good example at the end of this document: http://www.indigorenderer.com/joomla/in ... &Itemid=62
Also check your material precedence. Air is equal to one. Your liquid should have the highest precedence, followed by the glass.
Drinking glass example: glass 10, drink 11, ice 12
And, as always, check your normals.

Thanks Phr0stByte
It was actually a stupid normals problem.. The precedence was set right, but the normals on the inside of the glass was pointing outside.. stupid stupid me.. Will post the updated render when it has cooked a bit longer.. Things are SLOW on this little laptop..

Yes, that is right. I indeed had things arse backwards - not unusual.
I am actually doing a scene now where the test render did not show the objects, but showed the shadows cast by the "invisible objects. Turns out my normals where inverted on those objects. Still have to do another test to see if its right now...
