Damn ...

I wonder how many test renders you do before finding out the good params for all your materials.

And the lighting is so cool too. Would it be absusing to beg for a wireframe screenshot, to see your lighting setup ?

:)

That is so nice, it look great.. Fantastic materials and great modelling, overall a very tasty picture :) ... Even the boxes look great, and the ribbon is so natural looking.. I know this is supposed to be a work in progress and as such you would like crits, but I got nothing. It looks like a perfectley rendered image to me. Oh I suppose if I was to crit anything it would be that the lime (or is it a lemon?) slice looks a little dried out, maybe not have the flesh recessed as much compared to the rind.. But thats just being picky, it looks fine as it is really.

Thanks a lot guys.

Yeah, that's the finished image on page 3. I don't think I'll touch it again now, but that's probably not my last food render. So the crit and suggestions won't fall on deaf ears.

There's simply no light setup. This was all lit with only the infamous Kitchen HDR map by Develec. The trick was to rotate the scene to get the right position of the lights, and then to tweak the exposure (camera tonemapping) to get a little bit of burn.

One of the first and best env maps (regarding rendering results) I'll ever used.
