First to build a vehicle scene with Cindigo ^^.
Some are direct materials from C4D, which makes the render fast (I think).
And I get the car model from http://colacola.se/

its a simple conversion of the C4D material for export like you would do by using the "convert materials" feature in the PlugIn menu, so no (special) magic here.

Your second image looks good! I see a lot of potential for some great image here... maybe some kind of dirtroad would fit better to the BG and dirty car ;)

Updated with the glass window & road, rendered for about 40 min. only.
I was not able to convert the materials, but still I got a nice catch!

The model looks great, but I think the mud/dirt texture on the car is way too over-saturated, the road looks dusty more than muddy? Great work though, HDR lighting?

Have been working on this instead of revising for my a level maths exam on friday, 3d is much more fun! :D

I'm not really sure what you call this part, my Dad is into HAM radio etc. and I "borrowed" some parts from his shack to model when I need a break from revision! 8)
Was relatively noise free after ~ 1hour but I left it to render to see if the noise between the fins would disappear, but after 4 hours the noise is still there? :( BiDir PT (I had problems with fireflies with PT).

PS. It's not quite finished yet, update coming soon!!

That is an adjustable capacitor from the "good ol days". Not very common these days

That name rings a bell! Not common probably because my dad has hundreds of the things lying around! Final model is rendering right now, I plan to unwrap the model in the future and grime/dirt it all up like it is in real life :D

Nice car, nice render!

You should decide whether the "camera" is static and capture the car in motion or if the camera follows the car movement and thus blur the background as well. Now it seems the car does a 4wd spinoff!

I think I still have one in the basement somewhere, kept for sentimental reasons.
Yes, I was going
To suggest you'd grime
and dust it up a little. Meanwhile I'll look in my basement if I still have that thing.

I'll save the UV unwrapping for after my exams  Could definitely do with some dirt though! Does indigo support any VrayEdge/VrayDirt sort of material properties? I have no experience with ISL but it seems possible?
Anyway, here's the pre-final render - few more little parts to model which I will probably not get around to doing!
First render is straight from indigo, no postprocessing:

Here is a blend of Dscs315_4 and Dscs315_6 with a little bit of other post production (softening of noise and some faux glare) 8)

You have no excuses LithiumDesign, exams first !

Now that it's finished I recognize the object: it's the very part used back then to tune the radio frequency. There's no such fine tuning possible anymore with digital devices, I'm missing that old Toshiba mammoth... still operational after three decades, mind you, and with a powerfull output.

Concerning the dirt thing I don't believe that it is possible yet using ISL, cetainly not easily. However I'm quite a beginner in this field !

First render with Indigo, testing how long Path (gpu) takes to clear up. This is @13h and 29k samples.
