very nice rendering!

would you share some info about the modeling process, and setup.

Thanks
Hi, glad you like it :) This is quite simple scene lit by exr image from http://www.openfootage.net
Pebbles were made using patch objects and blender particle system, grass as well. All of this weight painted on the displaced plane. Water is a cube with subdivided and displaced top face. Rest is plain indigo magic ;) All done in about 35minutes.

Probably he meant more work on materials in general, and insistently. For instance you could map Phong's exponents, don't forget then to scale the texture b parameter by the maximum exponent targeted.

For instance with a black to white texture, if you want black to represent a minimal exponent of 322 and white to represent a maximum of 4356, you set:

Offset (c) to 322
Scale (b) to 4356 - 322 = 4034

That's an arbitrary eample. Funny how many times I had to edit that line, time to... yawn.

In terms of post-pro the Camera tonemapping would be a great start. It's a nice scene I think.

To all, how about posting actual WIPs into the forum ? This thread is going to explode and we want to know more !

Theoretically posting it in a WIP thread is a good Idea. In reality I believe that unfortunately you get the most responses when posting it in this thread rather than in a separate WIP thread.

Once you subscribe to this thread you get a notification email if a new post is made and I think that's the trigger for many to drop by. When a new separate thread is made (WIP or else) that is not necessarily the case.

I can see your point Headroom, I'm standing otherwhere, by default of course.

I wanted to say that user's work would have a more specific attention into a dedicated thread. If I may interpret your say, what is expected from this topic are images not explanations. In this regard I am also often the first in cause so I'll withdraw myself ;)

I meant to help, and helping one helps many in turn. Anyone willing to explore existing options in more depth can contribute by dropping a link to a wip along with the images.

J'aime bien modéliser des meubles (n'étant pas très doué en architecture).

Je vous présente ma table à manger "Basico"

is this what you mean?

I like modeling of furniture (not very good at architecture).
This is my dining table "Basico"
