Re: Simple Renderings Thread
Just a warm up exercise, an oak cabinet/coffee table think I made the texture's a tad big - makes the table look smaller than it actually is?

As you mentioned the wood grain should be smaller/finer in scale. Also the way this is mapped is not how that sort of conventional furniture is typically built. The grain on the vertical Boards should run vertically.

Thanks for the advice! I see what you mean, I was lazy and just used the UVW map modifier! I really need to learn how to map a texture in 3ds!Headroom wrote:As you mentioned the wood grain should be smaller/finer in scale. Maybe it's just veneer glued over MDF
Re: Simple Renderings Thread
Nice work Lithium, I really like the wood texture! But as mentioned before it looks tad too big.
Reminds me of something I'm working on..
(Don't look at the terrible scene setup.. )
Cheers!

Thanks FoXar! Yours is very sleek, is there a wood texture on the outside or a dark plastic? I can't tell sorry!FoXar wrote:Nice work Lithium, I really like the wood texture! But as mentioned before it looks tad too big.

Also I see a dark line through the drawers, might just be my screen? Keep it up!
EDIT: Properly textured the coffee table, added some ornament things and rendered it at a fancy camera angle and res

Hi Zeitmeister! This great water material is from database (Rippled Water by OnoSendai) I've only changed wave height to 0.001.
