- check the scene scale
- maintain a gap of at least 0.2mm between the glass and other surfaces (bulb seems to intersect with the floor)
- try different rendering modes, possibly with MLT on, Bidir-MLT is preferred here I guess. PT alone (single path tracing) will perform badly in this scenario of caustics, impeding the post process diffraction. Normally Glass Acceleration is not for curved surfaces but you can give it a go if you like the result.

The bulb surface has some width does it ? It must, about 1mm I assume.

Hi Nino!
One can feel this is still a work in progress, but the mood is..tasty! Very good!
Good trees and general environment, also. I'd suggest you to model more details, here and there, and make the architectural materials a little more dirty, to add realism.
Also, modeling some sort of indoor life (furniture and lights) will enhance your render a lot: generally speaking, adding multiple lights helps you to achieve more realistic results, so add some emitters in the outdoor too
Don't forget to substitute the sky, and to choose a background which somehow matches the perspective you have in your render, so you can see - say - a city, or a forest or whatever near the horizon!

Simple Renderings Thread

Post by Headroom » Tue Feb 21, 2012 1:25 am

To add to Pibuz excellent advice either make it all about the outdoors, for exams a hot, sunny day everyone wants to be in the pool or close to it, so place stuff accordingly. Sunscreen bottles, towels etc.
Or invite the viewer inside and draw the eye inside the house with nice warm lighting and well furnished interior. Make it look like people live there!

@Pibuz & Headroom

Thanks then...
This time, I have added some ripples on the pool, lights, and environment.
The temperature hot would just be easy for me.
I have hard times with the pool. Dun even know how to make it blue.
Btw, do I have to change it to a swimming pool, with the floor or just a simple one???
______
Ah, also with the interior. It has more furnitures, but it seems light cannot enter inside.
Can't wait for the render results, after school.

Thanks..

Great Heuballen, Zeitmeister!

Sorry to bother you with the same scene again, but I think it is finally more or less finished.

Thanks Polente!

Further on with wheat; gonna improve the foil. Glass material doesn't work that good here.
