Post by neo0. » Tue Jan 13, 2009 4:50 pm

Okay, I edited the default settings.igs in notepad and it still isn't working. Any ideas?

not working i.e. crashing??? Render foreground alpha was fixed in Indigo 1.1.15. If you are using a version earlier than this, it could be broken.

Well, I mean, it doesn't do anything. It's not rendering an alpha channel.

Anything to show neo0. (like what you typed) ?

Because if it's not working you may have done it wrongly, but who knows ? What to say ? How can we fix YOUR queries, neo0. !?

BTW, try bidir on/off :?

Sure!

Code: Select all

<render_foreground_alpha>True</render_foreground_alpha>
Everytime I render, it resets the settings back to the default. I suppose this isn't a problem for many people since their scenes focus on what's inside rather than what's outside. Never the less, a button to control this from within the UI would save a lot of time.

there is one, here's a hint, it's not actually a button, but you can select it in the render settings

Yeah, alpha render under advanced settings. It confused me a little though, since it's under the same catagory as BPT or MLT, but it's actually not a GI technique itself.. right?
