How to make a translucent material?

hi there,I'm new here, and i want to make a translucent (colored) glass,
selected "Specular" at the Indigo window, it's OK in the preview, but it doesn't work in a secen rendering.help me!
I'm not good at english,I wish you understand what I say.

I'm sorry, I found a similar topic about it.
My model is too thin to control transparency.
