Light problem

Post by Latetzki » Thu Sep 11, 2008 12:27 am

I'm trying to set light to my model but when I start rendering, that area I selected for light is just black. No light at all. I made new white material for light and double-clicked material and Indigo window shows up, then I select light from the Assign Preset. That's pretty much all I did. What went wrong?

uhm..
Check your normals, first of all.. White side facing outside the geometry, not inside....
Then..do you use camera tonemapping? Because, if so, try setting a greater ISO value, or increase the exposure time consistently.
Other thing: are you using the default sky system? because, for making a simple light study scene you better have a black background..
