Post by ARK » Sun Jul 06, 2008 9:03 am

When preparing some materials for upload, I found a little isue!

When loading materials I just packed the texture is out of scale!
Does anyone know why and is it's possible to keep the correct scale?

Doug Armand:
Thought it was obvious now that its the Sketchup section!

I use Sketchup 6 and SKindigo/Indigo 1.1.5.

Try to download the Floor_Pinewood_Plank material from the database, I uploaded it yesterday! When loading it you will see that the texture map is not 160x300 cm as when I saved the material.

Thats ok!

Anyway, If this is a general problem then I think its important, because it will limit the speed of setting up a scene on basis of a good material library!

Have anyone experienced the same problem?

What do you mean by out of scale?
There is no parameters for texture tileing in Indigo. Stuff like that is done via uvw mapping. When you import some igm, then there is no uvw coords info inside. Maps have to be tweaked to suite your objects inside your modeling app.

suvakas is right. The tile size of the texture is a SketchUp parameter and does not get saved with the indigo material. You will have to adjust the texture size (UVs) after you load the material. Sorry...that's just the way it works.

Ok! Thanks for the replys!

Now that I primary work with archviz it woult be nice if the texture scale was saved within the material, because the size of e.g. floorplanks are the same from model to model.

But maybe its not important if you work with other kinds of 3D stuff!

So, I have been have a bit of material scale problems too. I have attached two images to this post that highlight the problem. First I created 1m by 1m squares in sketchup and created a blend material (far left) out of the materials to the right. Then I applied the material over the componet a box about 1 or 2 meters in size (bottom image) and the scaling was very wrong. But, when I applied the material from within the componet it was the correct scaling. All parts was within the same file. Any Ideas on this?

Thanks

Square box componet from the same file as above and about the same size. If you notice the material is about 1000 times smaller then what it should be.

The material to the far left is what the material below should look like
